Cheile Gradistei, Romania (FIL/18 Jul. 2024) The latest FIL Summer Camp took place from July 10 to 18, 2024 in Cheile Gradistei, Romania. Young lugers from seven different nations: Croatia, Czechia, Estonia, Great Britain, Georgia, Romania and Slovakia trained together for the upcoming winter season. A total of 15 athletes took part, including ten girls and five boys.
On the very first day, the specially constructed start ramp for luge, which was used during the camp, was a hive of activity.
The camp offered the young athletes a unique opportunity to improve their skills, make new friends and gain valuable experience.
Fred Zimny, FIL Development Director, expressed his enthusiasm about the atmosphere and the progress of the young athletes: “It is wonderful to see such a homogeneous training group from different nations coming together and developing a strong team spirit. The training performances shown are impressive and give hope for a successful luge season for the young talents.”
